‘Dear parent / carer, your child has been selected as someone who is good at Design Technology to work on a project in the local park, building and installing a Trim Trail made from local wood.’

My son got to go to the park, saw and plane wood, and prepare the equipment ready for setting in the ground.  He worked on a real life project with real life results.  He had a good day, learnt a lot, felt more care and ownership of the park (“no one better vandalise this!”), and helped make the space better for the local community.  And he can play on it whenever he wants.  Job well done!
